Legacy Vault FAQ's

  • Can I try it before I buy it?

    Yes, once you enter your CC information each Account Holder receives a 30-day FREE trial period. You won't be charged and can cancel anytime during the trial period. 


    Once the trial period ends, your paid subscription begins.

  • How do I renew my subscription?

    Your subscription will renew automatically each month.


    You do not have to do anything at all. 

  • Payment methods accepted by us.

    We only accept payments through the app.


    Please check with your cell phone provider as Apple App store and Google Play store have their own requirements. 

  • Can I get a full refund?

    Since this is an app in which you download from an app store to your phone, you can cancel at anytime and you will not be charged the next month of service.


    Your account will be archived for 6 months just in case you want to return.


    No refunds will be provided. 

  • How do I add documents to my vault?

    Once in your vault, there are three ways to add documents. 

    1. Use the in-app scanner and point your camera lens of the phone towards the document. It will auto-detect and scan your document.
    2. Use the camera on your phone and take a picture of the document.
    3. Upload document from you photo library or drive from your phone.  
  • Where can I find the this app to download?

    We are in the Apple app store and the Google Play store availble for download. 

  • How secure is the NFC technology used in the Legacy Vault Key Card?

    The Legacy Vault Key Card uses the 13.56 MHz frequency to communicate with the mobile device during transactions. The chip is not a simple NTAG chip. It uses a secure element, similar to ones in banking cards and passports. Multiple layers of physical and software security keep your private documents, password, and finanical information safe.

  • What do I do if my Legacy Key Card is lost or stolen?

    If lost or stolen, please purchase a new Legacy Key Card and use your user name and password to recover your vault on your phone (or other mobile device).


    It’s important to note that because Legacy Vault App uses three-factor authentication, even if someone did steal your Card, they wouldn’t be able access your vault without also having your PIN and biometric information. These three factors of authentication act like a vault keeping your private documents, and passwords, safe and out of the wrong hands.

  • How many vaults can I have with one Legacy Key card?

    Right now, one vault and one card will work together. Stay tuned in June 2025 as we launch a joint products that may work with you Legacy Key Card.

  • What do I do if my phone is lost, stolen, or replaced?

    Losing your phone is always a pain and can induce anxiety. The good news is that when you use Legacy Vault App to store your private data, even if your phone is lost or stolen, no one will be able to access your information. Because Legacy Vault App uses 3-factor authentication, you need your user name, biometric and Legacy Key Card to access your vault. These three factors of authentication act like a vault keeping your documents, and passwords, safe and out of the wrong hands.


    Here are the steps to take if you need to Restore your Vault to a new phone (or other mobile device):


    Open the Legacy Vault App on your new phone.


    Tap “Login.” 


    Enter your user name, and password.


    Confirm 6-digit PIN.


    Enter 6-digit PIN and press Verify.


    Click "Menu" in the bottom right corner.


    Click "Authenticate"


    Register you Legacy Key Card by clicking "Register"


    Present the Legacy Key Card to the back of the phone (or other mobile device) as instructed - this may take a few moments, so please leave the Legacy Key Card touching to the back of the phone (or other mobile device).


    Click “Get Started” / “Go to the Home Screen.


    Your Legacy Vault is now restored

  • What information is required to have an account?
    • You must be 18 years of age or older.
    • You must be a US citizen.
    • You must have a valid email address.
    • You must have a valid mobile phone.
    • You must have a valid driver's license.
  • First Name

    Please make sure this field is populated with your legal first name.

  • Last Name

    Please make sure this field is populated with your legal last name.

  • Email address

    This email address will serve as a distinct user account for the app.


    You will need access to this email address for password reset activities as well as OTP activities.

  • Password

    The password you enter into this field needs to be a distinct password that you have never used before.


    Your password must meet the password requirements displayed in the app when signing up for your account.

  • Email Address

    This email address will serve as a distinct user account for the app.


    You will need access to this email address for password reset activities as well as One Time Passcode activities.

  • Password

    The password you enter into this field needs to be a distinct password that you have never used before.


    Your password must meet the password requirements displayed in the app when signing up for your account.

  • One Time Passcode

    Each time you log into the app you must provide your email address, password, and the OTP that is generated.


    Your account can be setup to receive this OTP via email or mobile number.

  • Forgot Password

    In the event your forget your password or desire to change your password, this link will allow you to create a new password.


    An email message will be generated to your email address on file and you will be given direction on how to change your password effective immediately.

  • Facial Recognition

    When setting up Facial Recognition, login to your account, go to Menu, select Authorization, then activate 3FA. 


    Enabling this allows the use of Facial Recognition on Android and iPhone devices. 

  • Fingerprint Recognition

    When setting up Fingerprint Recognition, login to your account, go to Menu, select Authorization, then activate 3FA. 


    Enabling this allows the use of Fingerprint Recognition on Android and iPhone devices. 

  • Legacy Vault Key Card

    For iPhone users ONLY. 


    The Legacy Vault Key Card must be purchased separately.  


    When setting up Legacy Vault Key Card, login to your account, go to Menu, select Authorization, then register card. 


Legacy Holder(s)


  • What is a Legacy Holder?

    A Legacy Holder is someone you assign to receive the information in your vault after you transition.

    You can decide who you would like to share your legacy with. Invite one or more legacy-holders to share your vault with when the time comes.

  • Can I have more than one Legacy Holder?

    Yes, you can up to five legacy holders associated with your account.

  • Who should be my Legacy Holder?

    A legacy holder could be anyone (family, friend, church or institution) you deem as important enough to be able to access your vault after you transition from this earth to carry out your wishes.

  • My Vault

    This is the location where all of your important information can be organized, stored, and updated over time.

  • My Story

    This section of the app is utilized for documenting your departing wishes, photos, and songs for your homegoing celebration.

  • Add Assets

    This section of the app is utilized for adding assets, information, images, and video (where applicable) on the fly.

  • Notifications

    Notifications generated from the app will be generated in this menu to remind users of announements and updates.

  • Menu

    This section of the app is utilized for accessing your account info, legacy holder(s) info,  billing, contact us, and authorization information associated with your account.


    You can also delete your account from this section.

    This section of the app is utilized for documenting financial account information for your vault.

  • Passwords

    This section of the app is utilized for documenting online account credentials and information for your vault.

  • Insurance

    This section of the app is utilized for documenting insurance information for your vault.

  • Documents

    This section of the app is utilized for documenting and scanning physical documents to your vault.

  • Other Assets

    This section of the app is utilized for documenting and photographing physical assets to your vault.

  • Record A Video

    This section of the app is utilized for recording a 2 minute video to leave for your loved ones.
